dry grasslands, forest-edge, ruderal and tall-herb communities; phytosociological methodology; vegetation databases;
vegetation classification; conservation and restoration; biodiversity patterns and species-area relationships; theoretical ecology; floristics of vascular plants, bryophytes, and lichens.

Monika Janišová

Responsibilities

Editor-in-Chief of the EDGG Bulletin;

Research interests:
vegetation classification, syntaxonomy and ecology of grassland communities, population biology, succession.

Solvita Rūsiņa

within EDGG:
Editor-in-Chief of the EDGG homepage 

Research interests:
grassland, forest and forest fringe vegetation: phytogeography, syntaxonomy, phytodiversity, succession, coservation; vegetation development and succession in the context of landscape and site history.

Péter Török

Contact Officer to other organisations; Deputy-Secretary-General; Deputy-Officer of the Special Policy Committee
 

Research interests:
conservation and restoration aspects, vegetation dynamics and seed banks in various types of grasslands

Stephen Venn

Responsibilities
within EDGG:
Secretary-General;
Deputy-Editor-in-Chief of the EDGG homepage (incl. other electronic media)

Research interests:
urban ecology, conservation biology, carabid beetles, dry grassland ecosystems, management of grasslands for the enhancement of biodiversity

The chairmanship of the EDGG is not a “closed club”. Any EDGG member may be nominated as a candidate for the Executive Committee by any member of the EDGG, including himself/herself. According to the Bylaws of the EDGG the Executive Committee  consist of three to seven members. The members of the Executive Committee are elected for terms of two years. Membership automatically terminates at the time of the General Assembly, which is held in uneven years.
